Solution |
The
seven databases all held similar information for different
purposes, but over the years had become totally unsynchronised.
Initially a series of automated data mapping routines were
devised to map the majority of data. Simultaneously a manual
data mapping and cleaning operation (at its peak consisting of
over 500 temporary staff) was set-up. Initially the manual data
cleaning routines had to be devised and the various supporting
tooling (AVIs etc) defined and implemented. Subsequently the
temporary staff taken on had to be trained, quality audits and
routines introduced, work-loads planned and allocated and
finally the overall data cleaning operation managed. A data
quality target of 96% and a fixed delivery deadline was set by
the client and national legislation, the project was
ultimately delivered on time and to a quality target in excess
of 98%.
